After years of helping friends with their gardens and seeking more professional creativity, Katie decided to pivot from her career in tech and launch Sub Rosa Gardens. Balancing beauty and sustainability, Katie specializes in creating lush gardens in a thoughtful way - incorporating native and low-water planting throughout her designs.

Growing up in Paso Robles, California, Katie would spend her free time outdoors in her family’s oak grove, identifying plants and different conditions that enabled them to thrive. She attended the horticulture program at SBCC and is always happy to answer client questions from "how do I compost?" to "why are my leaves turning yellow?"

Outside of work, Katie enjoys floral arranging, foraging edible plants and mushrooms, and most importantly spending time with her 2 energetic kids, husband, and goldendoodle.
